Starting Small with Healthy Habits

Like learning a new skill, healthy habits begin as small incremental steps. Small changes throughout your day add up to a healthier you. We want you to reach your goals and love what you do because let’s face it, we love this industry. It’s the greatest industry in the world.

As beauty professionals, we make people look and feel great every day. As a result, people look forward to seeing us. There is so much potential for success. But getting started is the hardest part. This list of little, daily to-dos can help you get started on becoming your best self!

  • Tidy Up Your Station
    • Today is the day to sort through your station/back area. Donate your used towels to your local animal shelter, safely dispose of products that are no longer potent, and organize those additional tools that seem to have a life of their own- like bobby pins, nail files, lash wands, and tweezers.

  • Organize Your Camera Roll
    • That pesky storage full notification won’t stop until you delete those duplicate photos, unnecessary screenshots, and older photos you no longer need or have already posted. So take 5-10 minutes to go through your roll to free up much-needed storage space!

  • No More Hanger
    • Have scheduled break times throughout your day to eat and drink water. You can’t pour from an empty cup. According to the Mayo Clinic, the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is: About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men. About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women. So make sure to fill yours!

  • Automate Certain Shopping
    • Do you regularly go through snacks? Do you find that you need trash bags every two weeks? Set up a subscription service through a trusted retailer! Plus,
      often, you’ll get better deals.

  • Carve out Me Time
    • Create a recurring calendar event for a few hours weekly to allow yourself to reset and recharge. Any to-do list activity is strictly forbidden! This time is for you to relax without expectations.
