Smile - even if you don't feel like it!

The holiday season is always a busy time of year and can be stressful. Today I want to encourage you and your students to remember to smile. It doesn't matter what is going on around you - your students could be running way behind, you've got guests waiting, the hot water heater isn't working and you feel like you are getting a cold - it's important you remember to smile.

Simply smiling at people makes them feel happy and good about life. It diffuses any nervousness they might have. A smile can make your guests and your students more at ease - instantly.

It's a fact people who don't smile lose clients. It's that important! So start smiling now even if you don't feel like it. Smile every chance you get. It's a very important part of making your school culture outstanding.

Today, I want to talk to you about the importance of teaching your students to focus on the client. It goes without saying that our future professionals can't achieve financial success without clients and we all know how important it is  for our students to make a great living after they graduate.

Make "Thank You" a Habit

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I want talk to you today about making "thank you" a habit. One thing I hear all the time from salon and spa owners is that they want to hire students who have manners. So let me ask you this - are you teaching your students to look their clients in the eyes and say "Thank you for being my guest" or "Thank you for recommending me to your friend" or  "Sorry, I'm running late, thank you for waiting for me"?

"Thank you" is a powerful phrase and it should be used anytime you or your students get the chance.

Thanking people reassures them of their value and makes them feel appreciated. It's a warm and friendly thing to do. It's the most basic way to say you care. It's part of making the experience great for the client and for your students.

Remember-say-thank-you

Your future professionals and clients have a world of choices; let them know you're glad they chose you and your school. Start now by saying "Thank you".
