You Have To Hear This Story!

It was great meeting everyone at CEA this weekend! We had the best time and loved sharing info about the Prosper U Business Training Program with all of you.

I don't want to take up too much of your time, but before I go I want to share a success story with you about Holly.

"Holly is an esthetician, has been working in a spa for two years now and has been trained to sell retail with the Prosper U system and script. A few weeks ago her manager had a one-on-one with her about her retail sales. Her retail sales were low and her manager had noticed she wasn't using the Prosper U system.

During the meeting, Holly's manager went over her retail numbers. Together they reviewed the Prosper U retail system and role played to practice it.

The very next client Holly had that day - she sold $500 in retail to her! We were all so proud of Holly."

Today I want to share four simple things your students can do to help them connect with clients. The first contact a student has with a guest sets the tone for the whole experience. Research shows you only have 10-20 seconds to make a good first impression. Here are fours way to connect with clients during the greeting:

The goal is to make a great impression, to have the client like you and for them not be scared or intimidated. Nothing makes a great impression better that a smile, eye contact, a great touch, and using their name. Try it and let us know how it works - leave a comment below.

I hope everyone one had a fantastic holiday weekend. Today I want to talk to you about creative ways to help you and your students grow your business. One of the key drivers to success is increasing your number of clients. To increase your clients you have to get out there and generate excitement about YOU!

I tell my students and stylists all the time to remember - you are ALWAYS on stage. It's important to use every opportunity to tell people what you do. You must be ENERGETIC, be FOCUSED and think about all the wonderful, potential business that is out there, just waiting to be nudged your way. Put yourself out there and speak in front AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. And always hand out your business cards, let people know who you are and have an air of EXCELLENCE, QUALITY, and EXPERTISE.

The bottom line is - if you don't ASK, you don't GET. So get out there and be a raving fan of YOU!

1. Your Hair or Skin Looks Bad, No Authenticity = It's important you look the part - your hair, makeup and skin should look great.

2. You Don't Think They Can Afford It = Never judge a book by its cover. Every client buys products, get them to buy from you.

3. The Client Thinks It's Too Expensive = You could explain that professional brands are more concentrated than store brands and you need less product.

4. They Are Already Using a Professional Brand = Ask what they like about that product. If they like the smell, you might say, "We have a price comparative product that smells great." Always have an answer ready to get them thinking about new products to try.

5. You Don't Mention or Tell About the Products = Your clients will buy somewhere else if you don't educate them and tell them about products in your salon or spa.

6. You Don't Use Any Products On The Client = You have four opportunities to tell a client about the product...cocktail products and use more than you think you need.

7. You Are Afraid To Hear The Word "No" = Simply take the products you used on the client and sit the three products they need the most on the front desk counter. Say "These are the three products I used on you today. This is what I recommend for you. If you have any challenges, please give me a call."

8. You're Not Talking About What You're Using = You're either super quiet, talking about relationships, or something else. Relationship building is important, but you also have to be professional.

9. No Follow Through = You do everything right up to the end and you forget to walk the client to the retail area.

Future professionals need this information to be successful. A confident professional who knows what products are right for the guest, will have clients who eagerly buy retail, who will look to them as their partner, and will reward them with money, referrals, relationships and more!
